KOKYU is a breathing guide for iPhone and Apple Watch that keeps settings and records on device. Health integration is free and optional, independent of support purchases. This page explains the app and its support website.

1. Information the app uses

InformationPurpose and storage
Breathing settings and historyPhase lengths, active time, intervals excluding pauses, and completed cycles are saved on device. Settings and app history sync with the paired iPhone and Watch.
Measured heart rate and summariesUsed only with your choices and system permission. Raw values are temporarily held in memory; minimal summaries are stored in app history and pending sync queues.
DiagnosticsUp to 128 fixed-schema entries on Watch cover runtime state and haptic requests. They contain no heart-rate values, health samples, free text, or account/device identifiers.
Support and earlier purchasesApple StoreKit verifies purchase status. The developer does not receive your payment method or card details.

There is no app account, advertising SDK, behavioural analytics SDK, or developer server receiving app data. Breathing and heart-rate records are not sent for advertising, sale, or third-party AI processing.

2. Health choices and permissions

Choose the data types you want in Settings and review access in the system permission sheet. Mindful-time writing, existing-heart-rate reading, and separate Watch workout mode are handled individually. Breathing and app history work without Health access. Support does not grant permission or guarantee measurements. Purchasing, cancelling, or refunding support does not change Health availability.

Mindful time contains active intervals with pauses excluded. Normal guidance does not start new heart-rate measurements; it references existing measurements when available. Missing values are never fabricated or filled in. Separate workout mode may save a workout and related data in Apple Health/Fitness. OS conditions and haptics may limit measurement availability.

Granting permission or restoring a purchase does not automatically write past app history. The OS may keep read-permission status private, so missing data can be shown as no measurement.

3. Retention, deletion, and withdrawing access

Settings and history do not expire automatically. Choose a record in History and confirm deletion. Deletion also updates the paired device; only deleted-record identifiers are kept to prevent replayed transfers from restoring a record. Pending queues remain until transfer completes or the record is deleted. Older diagnostic entries are replaced when the limit is reached.

Turn app choices off or change permissions in Apple's system settings to stop future integration. This does not undo a save already submitted or delete existing Health records. Manage those through Apple's Health app or settings.

Removing KOKYU does not necessarily remove history on the paired device, Apple Health records, or Apple purchase records. Manage those separately on the relevant device or through Apple's tools.

4. On-device storage and sync

App-managed history, sync queues, and recovery data are stored in a location excluded from device backups, with file protection that becomes available after first user authentication. When legacy storage is migrated, the new save is verified before old data is removed. Erasure of earlier backups or OS-managed transfer copies is not guaranteed. Apple Health storage and sync follow Apple's systems and your settings.

A warning appears if saving fails. Keep the app open, check available space and unlock state, then retry. Ending the process before a successful save can lose memory-only changes.

5. Optional support and Apple services

All features work without support. Optional support is a one-time purchase priced at ¥300 in Japan, with no recurring charge. Apple's purchase sheet shows the actual local price. Verified purchases can be restored with the same Apple Account; earlier Health purchases are recognized too. A paired-device notification alone is not proof of purchase.

Apple services, including purchases, payments, and Health, also follow Apple's privacy policy and your system settings.

6. This support website

Cloudflare Pages delivers this website. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and traffic information needed to deliver and protect pages. App breathing and heart-rate data are not sent to this site. There are no custom advertising or analytics scripts, sign-in, or contact forms. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for information about the hosting provider.

7. Contact and changes

If you email us, your sender address and the information you choose to include are used to reply and investigate issues. We retain them for the period needed to handle the enquiry and delete information when no longer needed, except where retention is legally required. You can also contact us about deleting enquiry information. Do not send health data, passwords, verification codes, card details, or purchase receipts.
